• May 2009 calendar

• Hip Hop Note:
  No adult Hip Hop April 23rd. We are not really having enough attendance. If you would like to continue this class please let me know. We would love to offer it.
  Students will be performing in the recital. They have been working on the piece.
  We have not come to a decision on costumes. We need them to all come together next week to work on putting the piece together. Everyone from 5:45 to 7:45 here at the studio. Same fee.
  They will come and rehearse in May with the jazz & acro act.

• Next Wednesday April 29th:
  No Pre-toe. I would like to have the 5:45-6:45 Pre ballet and tap class to come at 4:45-5:45. All Hip-Hop classes 5:45-7:45. Pointe from 8:00-9:00.

• Notice about recital preparations:
  We have 2 weeks of regular dance left. I'm so excited! Please try to be here for these two weeks.
  We have a lot of staging to do and can not do it without everyone here.
  Don't forget 11 missed classes is out limit. Some of you are very close. Please come to class. I would hate for you to miss being in the recital.
  I need my Monday 6:00 class and my Tuesday 8:00 class to combine for tap. I need both groups here Monday from 7:00-8:00 and Tuesday from 8:00-9:00.
  We will not have class this Friday April 24th , however we will make that class up on Sunday April 26th.
  My 1:00 class will come at 2:00-3:00
  My 3:45 class will come at 3:00-4:30
  My 5:00 class will come at 4:30-6:00
  My 6:30 class will come at 6:00-7:30
  And my advanced class will come 7:30-9:30
  Any class still having major problems be prepared to work that 1st weekend in May before rehearsals begin.
  Don't forget rehearsals begin Monday May 4th. I need lots of older students to help with the younger ones.
  No pay but lot's of service points

• No Classes Thursday, March 12th at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, March 22nd. We will not have class Friday, March 13th. We will make these classes up on Sunday March 22nd.

• No Adult Hip Hop February 26th, but next week on Thursday March 5 at 6:30 -7:30.

• What a great day we had at DTU !!!! I got to see a lot of my friends and take a couple of classes. And I was so proud of all my students !!!! More.

• Wow I cannot believe how great everyone is doing. The students seem to have learned so much already this year. I'm so very proud.
  Don't forget class today Friday Sept 26th but no tomorrow Saturday Sept 27th.
  It is really important that everyone show up, and show up on time because we are really moving at such a fast pace this year. I have made some changes in the class times so I just want to make sure everyone is clear. The beginner Jazz class on Thursday starts at 3:30 and continues until 5:00 and the Int/Adv Jazz class on Thursday starts at 8:00 and continues till 9:45. There is just too much work to cover in the original time and these are both a little bit larger groups. I think those are the only 2 we are still confused about. Thanks for your understanding.
  Remember if your child is not going to make class please let me know.
  Also it is very important that the students be dressed appropriately for class. We seem to be having trouble keeping up with our shoes. Please make sure the younger students have clothes that fit. I think they are really growing. I am having a problem with large holes in tights. Mine all have holes in the toes and maybe some runs. I'm talking big holes almost shredded tights. I can't believe how much tights cost.

• *****Last day to place order for Studio Jackets is Saturday September 20th. I will place the order first thing Monday morning. I want them to be here in time for conventions.
  ***********************Next Friday the 26th we will have regular classes
  We will not have rehearsals or class on Saturday September 27th.
  *********************Nutcracker Party Scene will be rehearsing on Sundays starting in October. We will rehearse with the girls only for a while then we will add the boys and then the parents.
  **********I am planning on attending Southern Association of Dance Masters (dance convention) near Memphis on Sunday October 18th. Students 8 and older are welcome to attend. Classes begin at 9:00 am and go till 4:30. If we register by Oct 3rd the fee is $70. There is a $15 late fee. This looks like a good deal, with excellent staff. Classes in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, and hip-hop. I'm putting up a sign up list. I have hotel info if any one is interested.
  **************Dance Teachers United convention ****************
  will be in Vicksburg November 15-16. The 15th is a competition if any one is interested. The 16th is classes only. Ages start at 6. If registered before October 25th the fee is $30. I expect everyone to attend. You can't beat the price or the location. I'll put the sign up sheet out for this also. Remember at the convention center you cannot bring in outside food. They usually have concessions but they also offer a box lunch for $12. If you want the lunch put that info on the sign up sheet. Ham or turkey
  *************We will be leaving for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Nov 22 and will return November 28th. It is possible that we will have nutcracker rehearsal that Saturday and Sunday after we get back depending on how we look.

  I can't believe what a wonderful year this has been so far. Thank you all for your support and help. All the students are working so hard and I have seen some major improvements already. I'm looking forward to a great year.

• I have changed Miss Heather's 1st two classes on Tuesday, the times and what they are. I have a 5 min break in between them.
  We split the Jazz class into two because of the numbers. Her 1st grade ballet is coming with me on Wednesday.
  On Thursday I added Anna's Brown class. On Friday I made the last class 15 min longer.
  This Friday August 29th I need to finish at 6:00. My 6:30 class will meet on Saturday from 2:00-3:30.

• What a great start!!! Everyone is really focused and doing great. I'm so glad to see so many previous students. I missed them all during the summer.

• I had a meeting of assistant teachers Saturday August 23rd at 1:30. I need for you to come knowing when you can help me. Those that said they wanted to help are:

• I hope you had a great summer and are ready for a very exciting 2008-2009 dance season.
  I had some adorable new students this summer. We've done a lot of dancing this summer. I have a lot of new material and I'm ready for a new year.
  I'm sorry to get the schedule out so late. I have really been working so hard on it. I have hired a new teacher. She is from Baton Rouge, but is going to school in Monroe. She will not start teaching till August 19th. We may have to work around her school schedule some.
  I am still looking for a Modern teacher. It looks hopeful but I can't put it on the schedule until things are definite.
  If you see any problems with the schedule let me know.
  I went through everyone's age and it did not coincide with your grades so I may have some of you in the wrong class.
  We had a placement class for Jazz. Saturday August 9th from 2:30-5:00. We are combining 5 Jazz classes into 3 groups. We are so sad Miss Wendy will not be returning this year, but I am so excited about teaching all of you again.
  I have 2 first grade classes. They are the same except for time and teachers. You may choose which time you would like to come to.
