Debra Franco’s Competition Team Information
(From now on to be know as The Debraettes)

*All students, that are enrolled in ballet, with at least one year of dance training are welcome to sign up for the competition team.

*All students on the team must sign a contract stating that they understand the commitment they are making to the team.

Insuring that they will attend all rehearsals and all required events.

They will be responsible for all fees including rehearsal fees, choreography fees, costume fees and entry fees.

To have someone other than myself choreograph a piece will cost no less than a hundred dollars to be divided by the dancers in that piece.

Entry fees vary from competition to competition but generally

Solo’s $65             Duo/trio $30 each                    Groups $26 each

Rehearsal fees will vary depending on the amount of rehearsal time needed

Last year the rehearsal fee averaged about $75 per dance.

*Students may participate in as many or as few dances as are available for their age and ability level (and those we have time to choreograph and learn)

*All students are required to dance in group numbers.
At least one with their age group and one with the entire team,
if we have time for a group piece. (Last year was the only time we have not done a entire team routine and I would like to bring that back, even if we don’t have it ready for the first competitions.)

*We have 5 Sunday’s before our first competition, therefore we will not have auditions.

*We will begin rehearsals this weekend Jan.18.

*I will pick people from the sign up list according to their ability and casting positions in the prepared numbers.

I cannot give out summer information at this time. I need information on which competitions we will be attending.

In the future all competition members will be required to attend a summer dance camp where auditions will be held and choreography for group numbers will be taught.

Competition pieces are not recital dances and will not necessarily perform in the recital. That will be my decision.
