Competition Team
1) Deadline to sign up is January 15th. There is a sign up sheet near my office
2) Students must have completed at least one year of dance.
3) Students must take as many core classes as possible. Ballet and tap is required. Jazz is required for all students 9 and older. Pointe, Modern, and Acrobatic are strongly recommended.
4) Must attend at least one dance convention a year.
If you are accepted to the competition team you are required:
1) to attend all rehearsals. Rehearsals will be on Saturday and Sunday. Once you have committed to the team you may not mess any rehearsals or competitions.
2) to participate in one large studio team number and at least one small group number. This will be of my choosing. You may and are encouraged to participate in as many group dances as possible. Only you can decide how much time and money you can commit to the team.
Solo’s are upon request.
No first year competition team member may have a solo unless at my request.
3) to pay all fees including rehearsal fees, choreography fees, costume fees and entry fees
I have not made decisions on which competitions we will attend. We normally attend 3 or 4 regional and 1 nationals. Here are some dates I am looking at for regionals.

All of these dates have more than one competition in more than one city.
I know the dates of these Nationals but I really need a couple of more days to think things through. I will have more exact information on Thursday.

Entry fees vary from competition to competition but generally Solo’s $65 Duo/trio $30 each Groups $26 each |
Rehearsal fees will vary depending on the amount of time needed.
The last two years I charged the rehearsal fee has been $75 per dance.
This year there will be an additional rehearsal fee for summer rehearsal before Nationals.
To have someone other than myself choreograph a dance will cost no less than a hundred dollars to be divided by the dancers in that piece.
