Thunderstruck competition in Birmingham is going to be Saturday,
April 25 only, little ones first.

Celebration
Competition in Memphis was cancelled.
Hollywood Dance Experience is the same weekend April 4-5 at
the Hilton Airport in Kenner, 504-469-5000.
There is a fee $165 for everyone over 10 to take the classes. $135
for everyone under 10.
We still have to pay our entry fees to compete.
Classes begin Saturday morning at 8. Competition is Saturday at 4.
Classes on Sunday 8-2.

This might be our last real practice before the Miss Vicksburg
Pageant.
Younger students will practice on Saturday and Sunday. I think the
older girls are ok but if I see a problem Saturday we could work
longer are on Sunday.
Each child will receive one free ticket to the pageant for a parent.
Additional tickets are $10. We will be able to rehearse on the stage
Friday night at 7:00 pm or Saturday. If you can’t make it don’t
stress.
Saturday I need to see all students in there red and white for “When
I grow up” at 3:15 Older girls are to bring shoes to see if we can
dance in them.
I will have the make up video in the lobby please watch it sometime
during the day and tell me who needs me to order which make-up.
Christine says she has different color for my black children. We
have used them before and I thought it looked great. There is a
different video for 12 and under, and 13 and older.
I still need to know who does not have pierced ears and who from
last year needs replacement jewelry.
I have not checked the mailbox recently but I have paid for
choreography, costumes and Showstoppers I need these fees as soon as
possible. I think most of you are waiting for the fund raising money
and some are not sure how that works. I’m not sure either but I have
no money to do any of the other entry fees. The costumes are here
and may need to be altered but I need for you to pay for them. I
think I sent out bill Tuesday.
Everyone be sure to thanks Scott Clanton for making our dimes and
Pam’s dad for our platform and steps for the younger ballet.
It’s all starting to come together. Thanks for your co-operation. I
have such great parents.

Note: I need to talk to parents
about solos. Do you think your child is ready to compete? I have not
entered all solos. Please let me know if you think your child is
ready. This is mostly students with 2 solos and students I have not
been helping. Do you have costumes? Celebration only allows one
solo. Which one would you like to do?
I also need to know how many students do not have pierced ears. We
need to do something about ordering make-up. Rehearsal schedule will
not go out till Wednesday night. Please always check the bulletin
board. A lot of confusion on times last week.

This Saturday we will finish early. I want to be somewhere by 7:30.
I will finish at 6:45. Please pick them up promptly and remember
next weekend older groups will practice on Sunday, Piper, Audrey and
Marneicha on Saturday.

We
will begin practice January 10th.
Miss Wendy will be here to set choreography starting at 1:30. We will work
till she is finished. She will choreograph a team jazz everyone should be
here. Then she will work on the older girls with a group ballet and a group
tap. We may continue on to Sunday. I will have to talk to Wendy about a more
specific time.
She will be choreographing a large group jazz for the team routine ($19
each) I think, maybe. She will also choreograph a group ballet and tap for
the older team ($25 each & each dance).
I am planning on doing a small group ballet with all the younger dances, and
then breaking the tap into smaller groups. We will start Saturday morning
before Miss Wendy comes.

need to have a meeting of all the competition team parents. One parent is
fine. Does Saturday Jan 3, 2009 at 11:45 work for everyone? Please have a
calendar.
If not call me.
If you know someone on the team please help me make sure they got this
message. Some people don't check e-mails at home during the holidays.

Competition Tryouts went great!!!!
I was so pleased to have so many returning team members and so many new
members. It looks like we will have an awesome team this year. I'm so
excited!!!

I am
changing the date for auditions for competition team. I hope a lot of you
will come audition. We had a great group last year and I'm sure this year
will be even better!
The new date is Sept 6th 10:00 to 12 noon.
