MARK YOUR CALENDAR
This year's Spring Concert will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 25 at the Vicksburg City Auditorium.
Rehearsals begin May 5th PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REHEARSAL SCHEDULE CAREFULLY!
Every thing concerning the recital is here. Please keep this in a safe place so that you may refer back to it.
It is imperative that you make these rehearsals not just for your sake but also for the sake of your class. It is very hard to work when every one is not here.
All rehearsals will be here at the studio except the last one. That rehearsal will be held at the Vicksburg City Auditorium.
Exact Schedule of who is dancing at which Nursing Home will be sent home later.
It is very important than I have students here to help with the younger children. We live in a very busy and fast paced world. I realize that this rehearsal schedule is hard enough just coming at your own time, however I do expect most of the students, 6th grade and older, to come to all the younger rehearsals and to help here and backstage. I need at least 26 helpers.

Sunday May 25th Recital at the City Auditorium – Showtime 2:00 Students need to be there by 1:00
All students in the younger tap need to have a fake present wrapped for the recital. The students should appear as though they are going to a birthday party and bringing a present with them.
Please buy Reserved Seating tickets in advance. They are assigned seats. Please sit in your own seats. People who buy tickets early will have better seats. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets orders will not be taken over the phone. Pay for tickets when you reserve them.
Students Do Not wear Costumes to or from the Vicksburg City Auditorium. Hair and Make-up should be done at home. All students wear Make-up.
Make-up Make-up should be worn much heavier than normal. More than performing at the nursing homes White eye shadow Rouge Brown eye shadow Red Lipstick Black eyeliner False eyelashes are good
Children of darker
tones should use a Gold in place of the white
I will talk to parents and demonstrate Make-upon Monday May 5th at 6:00. Please do not put > on the corner of your eyes. Make-up for dance is different.
It is important that you practice putting make-up on your twirling swirling diva ballerina before the night of the show.
Hair Hair will be worn in a ballet bun for all dances. No exceptions. No braids. Bangs are acceptable only on students under 6. A little gel helps to give a clean professional look.
Concerning Costuming for Recital
All Ballet & Pointe dances wear pink Leo tights. All Tap dances wear tan Leo tights
All Jazz numbers wear tan tights and tan shoes. All Acrobatic classes wear tan tights and black shoes. Miss Norma now has acrobatic shoes at Fredericks Panties are not to be worn under any costumes! No bras that show. Please do wear support.
No Hipster Tights
Girls wear pink leather Ballet shoes in all ballet dances. Pointe shoes should be covered with a lotion to produce a matte finish. All girls wear tan tap shoes with a buckle. If your shoes are slipping they make an adhesive rubber sole that can be put on all shoes. You can purchase them at Wal-mart.
I will hand out costumes when they come in. All bills must be paid in full for the year before costumes go home. This includes Tuition, Costume, Competition, and ALL FEES
Put your name in all costumes, shoes, tights, and accessories. Please take costumes out of plastic bags. Make sure all wrinkles are out of costumes. Please try them on and make sure you can dance in them.
I realize most of us have summer fever. Please no sunburns or ugly tan lines. Play safe! No scrapes, bruises, or worse.
Parents are not allowed backstage during the show. The children can dress themselves. They will have teenagers to help. You may come back and change them during intermission. We will not start an act until the parents are out of the back hallway. Students who are not in an Act should sit in the audience and watch. Every year I find parents in the dressing room during the show. Sit down and enjoy the show. Your child can learn from watching the older girls dance and it is just good manners. They may not wear their costumes in the auditorium.
Awards will be last this year.
I’m looking forward to a wonderful show. The students are starting to shape up nicely. Yes I am in my panic mode, but it is starting to shape up.
Program
I need each student’s name printed on a separate piece of paper the way you would like for it to appear in the program. Please turn them in to me no later than May 5th
